MANCHESTER N.H., (June 19, 2013) – The official start of summer has barely begun, but heavy rains from the remnants of Tropical Storm Andrea earlier this month are reminders that hurricane season in New England can begin early and last into late fall. If and when a major storm hits this year, Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH) is ready to meet the challenges, with recent enhancements focusing on improved system reliability and more timely information for customers.

MANCHESTER, N.H., June 13, 2013—Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH) today updated its forecast for rate changes set to take effect on July 1st. The company is requesting its Energy Service rate be reduced nearly ten percent, to 8.62 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) from the current 9.54 cents/kWh.

The Staff of the NH Public Utilities Commission late on Friday June 7 issued a study report that questions the economic benefit of PSNH continuing to own and operate state-regulated power plants.
